They had waited a lifetime to see their Anfield heroes in the flesh - and Liverpool's Chinese supporters weren't left disappointed after an afternoon to savour in Guangzhou.

Hundreds of fantatical Kopites packed into the city's Po Park shopping mall to welcome Kenny Dalglish and members of his playing squad - all of whom were given a rapturous ovation as they took to the stage in front of their beloved fans.

"It's fantastic to be here," said Dalglish, pausing to make himself heard over constant chanting of 'Kenny, Kenny, Kenny' as he took to the microphone.

New signing Charlie Adam, Raul Meireles and Jay Spearing all endeared themselves to the locals as they attempted Chinese writing on stage and left a lasting legacy of their visit by setting their handprints in clay, while Andy Carroll and Daniel Agger drew cheers of delight from the floor as they spoke about their respect for the club's faraway fans and their hopes of landing silverware this season.

Here are some great pictures from a memorable Standard Chartered sponsored event on the second day of Liverpool's Asian tour.
