Ibrahima Konate is available for Liverpool’s meeting with Leicester City, with Jürgen Klopp also reporting no fresh injury concerns ahead of Friday night’s match at Anfield.

Centre-back Konate has returned to training following his exertions at the World Cup with France and is in contention to be involved against the Foxes.

Meanwhile, Klopp stated that his squad had come through unscathed following the Boxing Day victory at Villa Park but indicated that the players who missed that game – Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones and James Milner – will not be back.

“No new injury problems after the [Aston Villa] game, not that a lot would come back for the [Leicester] game apart from Ibou,” the manager said on Thursday.

“He is now training with us, he will be available now as well. So, positive for this moment but we know it will be a tough game.”

Cody Gakpo is not eligible – the Dutch forward will officially become a Reds player at the start of the January transfer window – and long-term absentees Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Arthur Melo remain sidelined.
