Thiago Alcantara believes Liverpool's season has been building to results like Wednesday's 2-0 win over Internazionale at San Siro.

Goals in the final 15 minutes from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensured the Reds emerged from a testing Champions League last-16 first-leg clash with a valuable victory.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have won all seven of their European games this season and are on a run of seven consecutive victories in all competitions.

“I think we have played to arrive at this moment and have the chance to play these kind of games,” Thiago told Liverpoolfc.com post-match in Milan.

“We were waiting for these kind of games and we were ready for that all this season so we are glad to be here.”
