Diogo Jota is looking to score in his fifth consecutive game for Liverpool when they travel to Manchester City this afternoon.

Should he produce at Etihad Stadium in the 4.30pm GMT kick-off, the No.20 would become the first Red to net in five matches in a row since Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian achieved the feat for Jürgen Klopp's side back in March 2018 and went on to extend the sequence to seven.

Salah has four goals in his last eight appearances versus City in all competitions.

In the five games Liverpool have played since Virgil van Dijk's injury, they have conceded only once from open play and twice in total.

Roberto Firmino scored his first Liverpool goal in the club's last Premier League win at the Etihad back in November 2015.

Klopp has won five of his 10 top-flight fixtures against City, with two draws and three defeats. Both teams have scored 17 times in that sequence.

James Milner could make his 550th career league appearance, while Joe Gomez could bring up his century.

Pep Guardiola has four wins in his last 12 clashes with Klopp in all competitions (three draws and five defeats), with 11 coming against Liverpool. Klopp, meanwhile, has beaten the Spaniard eight times as a manager.
