Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined and is unavailable for Sunday's Merseyside derby, Jürgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Switzerland international, who has not featured for the Reds since January due to a calf problem, is set to be the only absentee for the Premier League resumption at Everton.

“He was injured and he is not ready but he is on a good way,” explained Klopp.

“Shaq has trained but not in massive parts with the rest of the team. He will not be [out for] long, but he is the only one out.”
