Sadio Mane has upped his numbers practically across the board in the Premier League this season, according to Opta's statistics from the first eight games.

A winner of the Golden Boot in 2018-19, alongside Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the No.10 has carried his stellar form into the new campaign.

Mane’s first-half breakthrough against Leicester City at Anfield last weekend was his 50th goal in the division for the Reds on his 100th Premier League appearance.

The Senegal international has already scored five times in eight league outings this season, increasing his strike rate from 0.6 goals per 90 minutes to 0.7 so far this term.

He has scored a goal every 122 minutes, reduced from one every 140 minutes across the previous campaign, and improved his shot conversion rate to 26.3 per cent.

Mane’s wider influence on this Reds team is reflected in his chance creation, too.

The 27-year-old has fashioned 13 already this season at a rate of 1.9 per 90 minutes – a jump from his figure of 1.3 per 90 during 2018-19.

And just for good measure, Mane has posted improved figures for duels contested (15.4 per 90 minutes), duels won (6.4 per 90 minutes) and dribble success rate (47.6 per cent).
