The 2019-20 Champions League group-stage draw is set to take place from 5pm BST on Thursday in Monaco.

Liverpool, the reigning European champions, will discover their opponents for the opening phase of the competition proper as they begin their defence of the title.

As holders, the Reds will be in Pot 1 for the draw, alongside Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit St Petersburg.

Eighteen other sides are already assured of their place in the draw, with six more to qualify via the play-offs across Tuesday and Wednesday.

Liverpool cannot face a fellow Premier League team in the group stage, which will get under way on September 17/18.

Fixtures will then be held on October 1/2, October 22/23, November 5/6, November 26/27 and December 10/11.
