Five Reds shortlisted for Champions League positional awards
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk have been shortlisted for UEFA's 2018-19 positional Champions League awards.
The five Reds are in the running for the individual accolades after helping Liverpool lift a sixth European Cup by beating Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.
Nominees
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Hugo Lloris, Marc-Andre ter Stegen
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Matthijs de Ligt, Virgil van Dijk
Midfielders: Frenkie de Jong, Christian Eriksen, Jordan Henderson
Forwards: Sadio Mane, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo
Shortlists were compiled from votes by the coaches of the 32 clubs that participated in the tournament proper, plus one journalist from each UEFA member association.
The winners will be announced during the group stage draw for the 2019-20 Champions League in Monaco on Thursday August 29.
