Sadio Mane's clinical finish sent Senegal into the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night with a victory over Uganda.

The Liverpool forward scored the only goal of the last-16 tie in Cairo, Egypt – his third strike of the tournament so far.

Collecting a pass at the edge of the opposition area in the 15th minute, Mane deftly clipped a shot across the goalkeeper for what proved to be the winner.

The 27-year-old also saw a penalty saved on the hour mark but his first-half effort was enough to guide his country into the next round.

Senegal will now face Benin, who eliminated Morocco on penalties earlier in the day. That game will take place on Wednesday July 10.
