Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are a vital component in Liverpool's offensive play.

That's the view of a Reds full-back of days gone by, Djimi Traore.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have engaged in a light-hearted spot of competition this season, and the Scotland captain is winning as it stands with 10 assists so far this term, compared to his teammate's six.

And 2005 Champions League winner Traore thinks both deserve huge credit for the attacking prowess they bring to Jürgen Klopp's side.

"I think both of the full-backs are fantastic players," Traore told Liverpoolfc.com.

"They play more offensive than what we used to do back in my era, they are great lads and you can see they enjoy it, they embrace that position and enjoy their football.

"They are part of our attack and it's fantastic the way Liverpool play. Everybody attacks and everybody also defends.

"The full-backs contribute a lot to the offensive part of the team and it is a good weapon because when you have that kind of service it's fantastic for the strikers."
