Virgil van Dijk insists Liverpool will not adjust their own style for the visit of Manchester United this Sunday.

The Reds sit at the top of the Premier League table ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures having navigated their opening 16 games of the campaign without defeat.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will aim to extend that record against their arch-rivals at Anfield – and won’t be daunted by the visitors’ threats as they try to do so, according to Van Dijk.

“You know what you’re going to face,” the No.4 explained to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher in conversation with Sky Sports.

“We have pretty good pace as well, so we don’t need to be scared of anything. But obviously we need to be aware of their danger; they have good players, especially up front.

“We need to be ready for that. But we need to play our game and make sure we are on top of them and make sure they are put under pressure.”
