There was a disappointing start to Andy Robertson's Scotland captaincy as Belgium claimed a 4-0 victory in the countries' friendly at Hampden Park on Friday night.

The Liverpool left-back played the full game in Glasgow, where goals from Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi (two) earned the win for Roberto Martinez’s team.

Robertson and Scotland now turn their thoughts to the opening match of their UEFA Nations League group against Albania at the same venue on Monday night.

Reds goalkeeper Kamil Grabara was in action for Poland U21s as they were held to a 1-1 draw in the European Championship qualifier with Faroe Islands.

On Thursday night, Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum played 90 and 45 minutes respectively for the Netherlands in a 2-1 victory over Peru.

Dominic Solanke was a 76th-minute substitute for England U21s in their Euro qualifier at home to the Dutch, which ended in a goalless stalemate at Carrow Road.

Adam Lewis was also on Young Lions duty on Thursday, featuring in the entirety of the U20s’ 2-0 success against Switzerland at St. George’s Park.
