Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is satisfied that his recovery from injury is ‘moving in the right direction’.

Knee ligament damage sustained during Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final victory over AS Roma in April ended the midfielder’s impressive first campaign at Anfield prematurely.

The Reds’ No.21, who underwent surgery that also denied him the chance to represent England at this summer’s World Cup, has been working hard on his rehabilitation throughout the off-season, and has provided an upbeat update on his progress.

“It’s alright. I saw the surgeon just now, he’s happy with everything, so we’re moving in the right direction,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told the England team’s official Youtube channel.

“It’s just obviously going to be a long process and a boring one, but that’s life. I’m all good.

“I’ve got to stay positive, it’s not going to get me anywhere if I’m not positive around the lads and just in general. It’s life, I’m still living so I’m happy.”
