With the Champions League final just two days away, Kiev is bracing itself for a tidal wave of red and white heading from Merseyside and Madrid.

A jaunt into the centre of the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday morning offered little evidence of fans of either team having arrived yet, but preparations to house them are well and truly under way.

Supporters will be greeted by a stunning city boasting architecture that is even more breathtaking set against the clear blue skies that are expected to provide the backdrop to the next few days.

They will also have plenty of areas to congregate, with the numerous fan parks dotted throughout Kiev starting to take shape in anticipation of Saturday's showpiece fixture.

As the trickle of supporters turns into a flood over the next few hours and days, those arriving can be confident of a warm welcome - in more than one sense of the word.

Temperatures today have soared to as high as 27 degrees celsius; so if you've left home without shorts and sunglasses, you might need to pick some up en route!

One thing you shouldn't be worried about, however, is finding your way around when you do arrive - LFCTV have got you covered.

Our cameras spent the morning touring Kiev with expert guide and former Reds star Jason McAteer, whose tips you can catch on this week's edition of LFC Later.

Any fans who did reach Ukraine today are in good company, with Liverpool's first-team squad having also touched down on Thursday evening.

The players were put through their paces at Melwood before jetting out from John Lennon Airport and enjoyed a meal together in the team hotel following their arrival at around 7.30pm local time.

A training session at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium awaits tomorrow - stay tuned to Liverpoolfc.com for full coverage of that and a pre-match press conference featuring the manager and two players.
