Istanbul 2005: Through the eyes of the supporters
The personal stories of what occurred on that incredible night in Istanbul on May 25, 2005 will simply be passed down from generation to generation, with each individual fortunate enough to be present at the Ataturk Stadium able to recite their own unique tale.
It is with that firmly in mind that to mark the 11th anniversary of Liverpool’s fifth European Cup triumph, we asked the award-winning LFC fanzine and podcast The Anfield Wrap to share some of their own memories.
John Gibbons, Gareth Roberts, Phil Blundell and Chris Maguire kindly agreed to assist – and the result is four brilliant, but very different, individual accounts from Istanbul.
