Liverpool Ladies continued their pre-season preparations in style with a stunning 8-0 win over Derby County at the Watkinson Construction Bowl on Tuesday night.

Matt Beard's side were in impressive form as they pieced apart the opposition in a clash they dominated from the first whistle to the last.

Kate Longhurst and Fara Williams grabbed two goals each, while strikes from Nicole Rolser, Natasha Dowie, Corina Schroder and Line Smorsgard completed the rout.

Longhurst opened the scoring when she fired Martha Harris' pass into the roof of the Rams' net, before Williams sent a stunning effort flying past the opposition goalkeeper from 25 yards out.

It was 3-0 to the reigning Women's Super League champions when Derby attempted to clear a short corner and Rolser pounced to apply a simple finish from inside the six-yard box.

After the interval, Dowie added a fourth, prospering from Schroder's pinpoint cross to find the back of the net. Schroder then took matters into her own hands to finish into the top corner and make it 5-0.

Dowie turned provider as she skipped clear of the Rams' defence and tucked the ball inside to Williams, who converted from close range to clinch Liverpool's sixth goal of the game.

New signings combined to make it 7-0 when Asisat Oshoala dazzled down the right wing to set up Smorsgard for her goal before Longhurst followed up with the Reds' eighth.
