Jordon Ibe will be given ample opportunity to display his raw talents for the Liverpool first team in the remaining months of the season.

Midway through January, the 19-year-old returned to the Reds from a fruitful loan spell in the Championship with Derby County.

Ibe was handed a late chance to shine in the weekend's 2-0 victory over West Ham United at Anfield, joining the action for the closing 10 minutes.

He cannot be involved on Wednesday when Brendan Rodgers' charges attempt to overcome Bolton Wanderers in an FA Cup replay, due to being cup-tied.

But the manager explained after the result against the Hammers that the versatile forward player has the profile to thrive in his preferred system.

The Northern Irishman said: "I think he's ready now. You saw what he can do in his cameo and it's just unfortunate that he's not available for the cups.

"But I brought him back because with the set-up of the team there are more opportunities for him to play now. He can play in maybe four positions.

"He's diligent enough. He gets forward but he also gets back, recovers well, so there are going to be more opportunities for him.

"I think he's going to be a big player for us because he's a wonderful talent with his power and pace, and he will be huge for us in the coming years."
