Liverpool face Aston Villa at Villa Park this afternoon hoping to maintain their fine away form so far this term - and ahead of the tie, club statto Ged Rea brings you a selection of facts and figures relating to the match.

The Reds have won five away games in the top-flight this season. Only Manchester City (seven) have won more - though Chelsea, Southampton and Tottenham have also won five.

Liverpool are one of only two teams in the top-four divisions not to draw an away league game this season. The other team is QPR, who have lost all 10 they have played.

Liverpool are aiming to record three successive wins for the first time since April.

They are unbeaten in the last seven games in all competitions and have lost only one of the last 13 in league and cup.

Since losing at Old Trafford last month the Reds have taken 11 points from a possible 15.

They have won four in succession away from home - at Bournemouth, Burnley, AFC Wimbledon and Sunderland. Last time they won a fifth in a row was last April - all in the league.

If they keep a clean sheet they will record three in succession away from home in the league for the first time since September 2008. Two of those games were against Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Steven Gerrard has scored more goals against Villa (13) than any other side with 12 of those coming in the league. Robbie Fowler also scored a dozen league goals against the Villans.

Gerrard needs one goal to reach double figures in all competitions for the 10th season in his Reds career.

The skipper has scored six goals in his last nine starts for the club and his next goal away from home will see him become only the second Liverpool player to score 50 on the road in the Premier League era in all competitions.

Liverpool's biggest ever win at Villa Park came in January 1925 when they won 4-1. They have won 3-0 on four occasions since - all since March 1966.

Villa Park has witnessed only 18 league goals in 10 games this season - the lowest in the Premier League.

Mario Balotelli has scored six goals against Villa in league and cup in five appearances, including four goals in the league. His only hat-trick in English football came against Villa in a 4-0 Manchester City home win in December 2010.

At home, Villa have won 14 of the last 61 top-flight games.

Villa have not won in the last six league games scoring just one goal - Christian Benteke after 18 minutes against Manchester United in a 1-1 home draw - since then they have gone 432 scoreless minutes.

They have scored more than once in only two of their 23 games this season - and not since a 2-1 home win over Leicester on December 7.

No Villa player has scored more than once in a game since Andreas Weimann against Hull in May.

The Villains have scored 97 goals in Paul Lambert's 97 league games in charge of the club.
