Liverpool fans in Malaysia now have their very own official club retail outlet after the first of its kind outside the United Kingdom opened on September 26.

The store, located in Lot 10 Shopping Centre in the Kuala Lumpur mall, is the seventh official global LFC retail outlet.

The club is currently expanding its retail operations and Malaysia marks the first of its new store openings, with Republic of Ireland, Indonesia and Thailand to follow during the 2014-15 season.

Liverpool's chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, said: "The look and feel of the Liverpool FC store in Malaysia matches the club's new retail concept soon to be applied across all Liverpool FC stores globally, giving fans in Malaysia the same authentic LFC experience.

"We're really excited to be opening the first of our international stores in Malaysia, where Liverpool FC has such a strong and passionate following."

The store offers the full range of replica kit, exclusive merchandise and fashion accessories and, as part of its launch initiative, LFC's replica European Cup was on display in the store.

Reds legend Robbie Fowler was also in attendance, meeting and greeting fans at the official opening, and commented: "Everyone connected with Liverpool FC knows the massive fan base that exists here in Asia, and especially Malaysia.

"We have always appreciated that passionate support in this part of the world. By opening a store here we are making it easier for fans to access LFC merchandise without having to pay delivery and import charges."

To mark the occasion, the new store in Malaysia also screened the Merseyside derby against Everton on September 27 on the Lot 10 rooftop, with Fowler watching alongside local Malaysian celebrities who are passionate about all things LFC.
