Being groovy is nothing new to Mike Myers; it comes with the territory of his on-screen alter-ego Austin Powers.

But it's the style and swagger of his beloved Liverpool that has impressed the International Man of Mystery, who couldn't turn down the opportunity to be a part of the sea of red inside Yankee Stadium on Wednesday for the International Champions Cup fixture against Manchester City.

Wearing his brand new home shirt and with his own home-made banner in-hand, Myers, who visited Anfield last November, spoke to LFCTV before the game about the exciting brand of football that has for so long been the hallmark of the Reds.

"Liverpool is an attacking club, and a lot of my American fans had criticism during the World Cup because teams didn't want to commit," he said.

"But what I love about Liverpool, traditionally, is how we move the ball about, how we attack, attack, attack and being on the opposition when we don't have the ball."

Looking forward to the game, Myers also said: "I can't believe it, this has been on my calendar for a very long time and I'm very excited."
