After the transfer window closed on Wednesday night, Liverpool fans were left to reflect on a hectic summer that saw the Reds make no fewer than seven major signings.

Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Alexander Doni, Stewart Downing, Jose Enrique, Sebastian Coates and Craig Bellamy were drafted in to considerably bolster Kenny Dalglish's squad for 2011-12.

With all transfer activity now done and dusted until January, Liverpoolfc.tv profiles our new acquisitions...

Jordan Henderson
Signed: June 9
From: Sunderland

He said: "I'm over the moon, overjoyed to be here and I'm really looking forward to it. I was flattered to know Liverpool were interested in me and, once I knew, it was a massive decision for me to make but also a massive opportunity. I cannot wait to play at Anfield in front of the Liverpool fans and everything. I'm just excited and I want to get going. Liverpool's definitely the place to help me come on as a player, and improve me. The club's going in the right direction and it can go as high as it wants."

Dalglish on Henderson: "It is fantastic for the football club to be able to attract hugely talented young footballers that have huge potential. Jordan is very mature for his age. He is respectful and his principles and everything else on and off the pitch are exemplary. Not only is he a talented footballer, he's a really good person as well. He loves his football and he is very appreciative of what Sunderland have done for him."

Charlie Adam
Signed:
July 7
From:
Blackpool

He said: "I am absolutely delighted to be here. It has been a long process but now I can't wait to get started and hopefully this will be a successful period in my career and in the club's history. Liverpool is a massive club with terrific players and a terrific manager. You have seen since the new manager came in the forward strides that have been made. Kenny has a terrific respect from players and people in the game. He is a wonderful manager and it's an honour to be able to say I'm going to be able to play for Liverpool. This club has had a lot of success over the years, so let's get back to doing that."

Dalglish on Adam: "We're delighted. Our patience has paid off. We're looking forward to Charlie being a success here. He made a huge contribution to Blackpool's team last year and we're looking forward to him making the same contribution here. We know what he's got and that's why he was such a success last year in the Premier League."

Alexander Doni
Signed: July 15
From:
AS Roma

He said: "It is an honour to be at a club like Liverpool after leaving Roma. I was happy at Roma but Liverpool is one of those clubs that when the opportunity to go there comes along you have to take it with both hands. I am looking forward to playing for the Liverpool fans and it will help I will have my fellow Brazilians Lucas and Fabio Aurelio there to help me settle in and I promise to do my best for the club."

Comolli on Doni: "We are delighted to sign Doni. It's a position we felt we had to strengthen because it will allow our young goalkeepers to go on loan and get some experience at some point during the season, which is crucial in their development. We are getting a very experienced goalkeeper who is used to handling the pressure of big games and international matches with Brazil. He had a very good end of last season with Roma, so we are very pleased."

Stewart Downing
Signed:
July 15
From:
Aston Villa

He said: "It's a great feeling and I'm very happy to be here. It's been a long time coming and I've had to wait a few weeks, but I'm really pleased to be here. With the tradition, the manager and the players they have here, there was a big temptation to come here and once I knew of their interest, there was only one place I wanted to go. When I wanted to come to Liverpool, the first thing I thought of was playing at Anfield in front of those great fans. I'm really looking forward to it."

Comolli on Downing: "I am very pleased. It has been a long process and long negotiations, but we have reached an agreement with Aston Villa and the player has signed for us. We are delighted. It's difficult to say he was our No.1 target because all of our targets are our No.1 target. We did not prioritise on who we wanted to sign first, but we needed that pace and wide player that can bring us something extra, which we did not have in the squad. He has the right mentality, the right attitude and was absolutely committed to coming to us, so we are delighted."

Jose Enrique
Signed:
August 12
From:
Newcastle United

He said: "This is one of the happiest days of my life. I have come to one of the biggest clubs not just in England, but in the world. I am really, really happy. They have won a lot of things including the Champions League. They have amazing players and I hope to win things here. Of course I am looking forward to playing in front of the Kop. Everybody speaks about the fans here and they are amazing. I am looking forward to it. I hope it will be this weekend, but if not I can wait."

Comolli on Enrique: "I am very pleased because it was an area we felt we needed to strengthen - we were a bit weak and felt we had to do something. I am very pleased to have signed arguably one of the best left-backs in the Premier League."

Sebastian Coates
Signed:
August 30
From:
Nacional

He said: "Luis (Suarez) told me a lot about Liverpool - but about the fans more than anything else. He told me how passionate they are about the club and how supportive they are. Luis also told me about the history and the tradition of the club and now I feel very happy and excited to be here because I have left one great club in Nacional and signed for another great club with a fantastic history. I know that when I do get the chance to play I have to perform to the best of my ability. I'm really happy to be here. When I arrived at the stadium on Saturday I was treated very well by everybody and I hope to repay all those good wishes in the future."

Comolli on Coates: "His qualities are perfect for the Premier League because here you can face more direct teams where you have to head the ball several times during the game and make sure your presence is being felt on set pieces and throw-ins. He also has the ability to play against big players, he's not afraid to be isolated one on one and defend properly. We think he is the complete package. He is only 20 so there is a lot of time for improvement, and playing alongside Martin, Jamie or Daniel will help him improve fantastically, I'm sure, and training on a daily basis against Suarez or Andy will be a new challenge for him but we know already he will bring a big contribution to the team and to the squad."

Craig Bellamy
Signed:
August 31
From:
Manchester City

He said: "I've grown up with Kenny Dalglish, now to be signed by him is a massive honour. This is an exciting time. When Kenny took over, watching as a fan last season I got the buzz as well and it was great to see Liverpool end the season well. For me, the players they've signed this summer, there has been a lot of British which takes me back to when I started watching Liverpool. It looks so familiar to me and to be part of it is such a huge honour."

Comolli on Bellamy: "I think everyone knows how good a player he is. He has pace, he's a good finisher, he works hard and the timing of his runs is second to none. His work-rate is really good and what we really liked is the fact he is so versatile. He can play wide, he can play up front, he can play off the target man, so he is an ideal complement to the squad we have built during the summer."
