You've bought your new shirt, swotted up on our summer signings and received your match tickets in the post. All that's left to do ahead of the new season is read our A-Z guide to 2011-12...

A - Anfield playlists

Ever fancied DJing at Anfield before a game? This season you can shape the atmosphere at home matches by submitting a playlist that'll get the crowd going and inspire the players prior to kick-off and at half-time.

B - Breakthrough

Young guns Jack Robinson, John Flanagan and Martin Kelly all broke into the senior side last term and the likes of Conor Coady and Andre Wisdom are hoping to follow suit this year. Coady will look to build on the walloping strike he scored against Guangdong in the Reds' 4-3 win over the Chinese side during pre-season, while powerhouse centre-back Wisdom, who captained the reserves last season, will also aim to earn a first-team debut.

C - Corners

Liverpool were perceived as being so poor at corners in the 1980s that some fans set up a fanzine called Another Wasted Corner. These days this department is in the capable hands of Stevie G but Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing are specialists and could provide some excellent ammo.

D - Der der da da da der der der

Luis Suarez joined the club from Ajax in January and made such an impression that Liverpool fans instantly wrote him a song. All together now (to the tune of Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough')...

His name is Suarez, he wears the famous Red
I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
When he scores a volley or when he scores a head
I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
He scores a goal and the Kop go wild
And I just can't seem to get enough SUAREZ
Der der da da da der der der

E - Europe

Finishing sixth last term means the club will not be involved in any European competition for the first time since 1999-2000. That campaign saw the arrival of Titi Camara, Vladimir Smicer and goalkeeper Sander Westerveld. Erik Meijer, as well as centre-back pairing Stephane Henchoz and Sami Hyypia, also joined the club. After a poor showing in the League Cup and a fourth round exit in the FA Cup, Gerard Houllier's men finished fourth in the Premier League, earning a place in the following season's UEFA Cup.

F - Financial fair play

A recent UEFA ruling states that clubs must break even by the start of the 2013-14 season and it's a cause of worry for a large number of continental teams. The recent crackdown will punish debt-ridden clubs and perhaps make them think about how much money they are spending. Clubs who are in financial ruin could be banned from European competition in the future unless they improve their finances.

G - Graham the kit man

Graham's job is to get the players ready and this year he'll occasionally be kitting them out in a third strip that's got everyone talking. The outfit, which will be worn in places like Sunderland when our away top clashes, has a hint of blue and is our best selling third kit ever so far. The outfit in fact harks back to Liverpool's first ever strip. When LFC was founded in 1892, the club shirt was made up of blue and white halves and was accompanied with Royal blue shorts and socks.

H - Hillsborough

The 96 will always be remembered. April 15, 2012 will see the 23rd anniversary of Hillsborough.

I - iPod

Dirk Kuyt and Raul Meireles looked after a lot of the dressing room music last term, with the likes of Adele, Black Eyed Peas, Tinnie Tempah and, ahem, Pink regularly heard booming from the tunnel.

J - John Arne Riise

The former Reds left-back signed for Fulham this summer from Italian side Roma and he won't be the only ex-Liverpool star to come up against his old club next term. Fernando Torres will make his first return to Anfield in a Chelsea shirt next season. Yossi Benayoun and Nicolas Anelka will also be part of the Blues' squad that day. Brad Friedel, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane will all turn out against their former club for Tottenham next year whilst Aston Villa's Stephen Warnock and Emile Heskey will also play against their old employers. Other ex-players who may come up against Liverpool next season include Blackburn's El Hadji Diouf, Stoke pair Jermaine Pennant and Salif Diao, and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Adam Hammill. Michael Owen could face Dalglish's men next season in the red of Manchester United whilst Roy Hodgson will also make a return to Anfield as manager of West Bromwich Albion.

K - Kirkby

Having scored 34 goals in seven games during pre-season, our current crop of U18s look capable of producing football even more thrilling than Raheem Sterling & co last term. Games will be screened live on LFC TV this year as new boss Mike Marsh looks to make his mark down in Kirkby. With a couple of dozen youth internationals learning their trade there, it's fair to say that rarely has our future in terms of developing players looked so exciting.

L - League Cup

Liverpool will enter the Carling Cup in the second round this year. The Reds usually enter the tournament in the third round due to European participation. Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke and Tottenham as well as the four English sides competing in this year's Champions League will all enter at the third round stage.

M - M4

Since the turn of the century, Liverpool supporters have had many memories of driving down the M4 come May. Whilst the Millennium stadium in Cardiff no longer hosts any English football finals, an army of Reds fans will still make their way down this Welsh stretch of motorway come the end of the season. On Sunday May 13, Liverpool travel to Swansea's Liberty Stadium for the final day of 2011-12. Hopefully the traffic won't be as bad as it is on Cup final day!

N - Next generation

Billed as a Champions League for U19s, the NextGen Series is the answer to a problem bemoaned by reserve team managers for years - a lack of meaningful football for players who are too old for the U18s but not quite ready for the first team. Liverpool have been drawn against Sporting Lisbon, Molde and Wolfsburg in the group stages and the likes of Coady and Wisdom will be hopeful of reaching the knockout rounds to be held in Abu Dhabi in January.

O - On the road

The Liverpool team coach will rack up a massive 4679 miles in round trips getting the club to all of next season's away games. The shortest journey the team will make is the 1.6 miles across Stanley Park and back for the Merseyside derby. The next shortest trip will be the 40.4 miles it takes to get to and from Wigan Athletic's DW Stadium. The longest journey comes on Saturday 28 April as we travel the 254 miles to Norwich City's Carrow Road. Once the team arrives back at Anfield the milometer will have reached a huge 508 miles in just one day. The trips to London involving the games with Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham will all exceed 400-mile round trips too.

P - Ponytail

Record signing Andy Carroll will be hoping to get his first injury-free run in the team this campaign. The Geordie will want to show Reds' fans some of the form that made him unplayable at Newcastle last season.  Having made his debut in Liverpool's 3-1 win against Manchester United last March, Carroll scored his first goals for the club during a 3-0 win over Manchester City. Our new No.9 scored an excellent low drive past England 'keeper Joe Hart and later scored a superb header to wrap up the three points for Dalglish's men. Liverpool supporters will be very keen to witness Carroll and his strike partner Luis Suarez tearing up many defences next season.

Q - Quota

Since the Premier League's introduction of a quota on home-grown players, as well as a 25-man squad cap, clubs in the top division have had to make the correct moves in the transfer market. Each squad must have at least eight home-grown players (players who have played for a club for at least three years before their 21st birthday). In a time of many foreign stars coming to the Premier League, the rule came into effect at the start of last season with the idea that it would make signing English players more attractive as well as hopefully benefiting the England squad in the future. Liverpool are a prime example of this, signing the likes of Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Joe Cole, Andy Carroll and Glen Johnson in recent years.

R - Rotation

The arrival of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing this summer means there will be a lot of competition for places in the Liverpool squad next season. Steven Gerrard, Jay Spearing, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles, Christian Poulsen, Alberto Aquilani, Joe Cole and Jonjo Shelvey all remain with the club so King Kenny could ultimately start with a 0-10-0 formation in the upcoming campaign.

S - Saturday, 3pm kick-offs

A lack of European football at Anfield brings the return of regular 3pm kick-offs on Saturdays. The Reds kicked off at the traditional time on just five occasions last season. This time around they are already pencilled in to play four 3pm kick-offs before the end of November.

T - Top four

The message coming from the dressing room is that, first and foremost, our aim this season is to return to the Champions League after a two-year absence. Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool will all fancy their chances - but six into four does not go.

U -Uruguay

Luis Suarez returns to Liverpool as a Copa America winner after he helped his native Uruguay to a 3-0 win over Paraguay in last month's final. The former Ajax striker was also voted player of the tournament as he fired his team to glory, scoring four goals, including his side's first in the final. After a busy summer Suarez will hopefully continue his blistering form in the Red of Liverpool.

V - Vocal

Recent research showed that we are the loudest fans in the Premier League with noise levels reaching an astonishing 97 decibels. A new air of optimism is surrounding Anfield at the moment and fans will fully get behind the boys come the start of the season. With the Kop and the rest of the stadium in full voice, we'll hopefully have a lot to cheer about during the 2011-12 campaign.

W - Wembley

Liverpool haven't appeared in a major final since their FA Cup triumph over West Ham United in 2006 and so Reds fans are yet to see their team play at the New Wembley. Having played many games at the old Wembley, supporters will be keen for the side to make next year's FA Cup final so that they can sample the delights that the new national stadium has to offer.

X - Xies

The website boys were delighted to see Norwich promoted to the Barclays Premier League as a long trek to Carrow Road will do wonders for their expenses, which have slumped in recent years thanks to Portsmouth and Southampton being relegated.

Y - You'll Never Walk Alone

It's a truth universally acknowledged that when the Kop starts singing the famous 'You'll Never Walk Alone', it is one of the greatest spectacles in football. First played before Liverpool matches in the 60s, the song is so well renowned that it has been adopted by many clubs across the globe including Celtic, Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund. A huge tradition at Anfield, it will be belted out before all of our home games next season.

Z - Z Cars

A tune synonymous with Everton, the club has run out to Z-Cars for many, many years. Liverpool fans will have to listen to loads more club songs during away games next season. Supporters will be subjected to choruses of Tom Jones' 'Delilah' when we face Stoke at the Britannia, while they'll hear echoes of 'Local Hero' at Newcastle's St James' Park. Arsenal play Elvis's 'Wonder of you' before games whilst Wolves ring out 'Hi-Ho Silver Lining' across Molineux. Manchester City's 'Blue Moon' often raises a few smiles on fans' faces as does Chelsea's 'The Liquidator'.
