Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno met with hundreds of local pupils at a West Derby School this week.

The Reds full-back made the short trip from Melwood to Blackmoor Park Junior School on Wednesday to spend the afternoon with children from years four, five and six.

Moreno took part in Q&A sessions with eight classes - answering the youngsters’ questions before signing autographs and posing for photographs.

“It’s always great to get out into the local community and meet the young fans," Moreno said.

“Melwood is just around the corner and these children are our neighbours, so we try to come and see them as much as possible.

“It’s been a really fun day here at the school.”

LFC committed to first team players visiting schools in the local area after autographs and photographs were prohibited outside Melwood for health and safety reasons.

The school visits provide a safer environment for young fans to collect autographs and allow even more local children to meet the players face to face.
