LFC Foundation sets student challenge
LFC Foundation teamed up with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) this week to set a unique challenge for local students.
The LFC Student Challenge saw 80 participants from LJMU embark on an alternative journey of discovery around the city, aiming to visit 10 iconic Liverpool buildings in just 90 minutes.
Competitors were tasked with taking group selfies at each of the landmarks and documenting their progress on Twitter using the hashtag #LFCStudentChallenge, with the winning team managing to rack up an impressive 10 out of 10.
An afternoon at Anfield stadium followed, where LFC Foundation staff and volunteers led discussions on its community programmes, volunteering opportunities and how students can get involved in the various activities.
Dawn Georgeson, LFC Foundation project lead, said: "It was great to see so many students join us and really engage with the task.
"We wanted to help them get to know their new city and learn more about how they can become involved with the LFC Foundation. There were some brilliant attempts at the selfie challenge and the groups really seemed to enjoy the talks given at Anfield.”
Charlotte Hughes, a first year Sport and Business student at LJMU, said: "Today has been really enjoyable and I’ve had such a laugh. Learning about the fantastic work that LFC Foundation carries out has been inspiring and I’m really keen to get involved now.”
