Lucas Leiva and Joe Gomez dropped by a local school in Anfield today to deliver tickets to pupils for an upcoming fixture.

The Reds duo presented children at Pinehurst Primary School with 11 tickets for LFC’s forthcoming contest with West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday December 11.

The school received them as part of the club’s young fan ticket initiative, which provides 55 tickets to five local Anfield schools each Premier League home game this season.

The seats are located in the upper Anfield Road family area and there are a total of 25 schools benefitting from the scheme - 21 primary schools and four high schools all located in the L4, L5 and L6 postcodes.

Each school decides upon which pupils should receive the tickets, based on factors such as good attendance, attainment and achievements.

Stephanie Tasker, head teacher at Pinehurst Primary School, said: “We are delighted to receive these tickets for our pupils and would like to thank Liverpool Football Club. It is fantastic to be able to reward some of our most dedicated, hard-working pupils with such an amazing opportunity to experience a game at Anfield.”

Lucas added: “It was a pleasure for Joe and I to visit the school today and hand over the tickets to the youngsters. They are all very deserving of the tickets and I hope they all enjoy the game and have a great time.”
