Dominic Matteo has shared the fantastic news that he has now fully recovered from a brain tumour.

In November 2019, Liverpool’s former No.21 underwent an operation on his brain, and after a period of treatment and recovery, he has now been given the all-clear.

Matteo was keen to express his gratitude to Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital – support which he will never forget – and he posted the below message on his personal Twitter account.

A popular member of the Liverpool side in the 1990s and a regular pundit and commentator on LFCTV in recent years, Matteo made his debut for the Reds in October 1993.

He went on to become a regular under Roy Evans and later Gerard Houllier for four seasons from 1996-97, making a total of 155 appearances for the club.

Liverpool Football Club would like to express its delight at this news and wish Dominic and his family all the very best. We look forward to welcoming Dominic back to Anfield in the future.
