Liverpool Football Club appreciates the dedication and loyalty of our travelling fans. Below is general advice and information which you may find helpful when planning your trip.

  • Kick-off at Stadio San Paolo is at 9pm CET (8pm BST) on Wednesday October 3. Turnstiles will open at 5pm local time.

  • LFC supporters are strongly advised not make their own route to the stadium due to risks to their personal safety.

  • All travelling supporters should meet at Piazza Municipio where a series of shuttle buses will be provided to and from the stadium (see below for more information). Supporters are advised to arrive in plenty of time at the shuttle bus meeting point to facilitate searches and ticket checks. NB: Please note this is subject to change at the discretion of the Italian Authorities - up to date information will be published by LFC and the FCO website. All supporters must continually check for updates to ensure they have the most accurate information.

  • ALL fans will have their tickets checked at turnstiles and will be searched at the entry points prior to accessing the turnstiles. Identification will be required to be shown at the turnstile.

Pre-match/getting to the stadium:

LFC supporters are advised that Stazione Marittima, in front of Piazza Municipio, is the meeting point for LFC fans. The meeting point is located in Porto di Napoli, the cruise ship port for the city, which is only a 10-15-minute walk from the city centre. The port area is well serviced by transport to and from the airport and central train station.

Liverpool supporters are advised to not make their own route to the stadium due to risks to their personal safety.  All travelling supporters should meet at Piazza Municipio, where a series of shuttle busses will be provided to and from the stadium (see below for more information).

Supporters are strongly advised not to use the underground or bus services under any circumstances.

Supporters should also refrain from walking alone in the city and/or wearing shirts, scarves or anything else that identifies them as LFC fans.

Fans travelling by car or bus on the A1 highway will find a gathering point at Sottosezione Polizia Stradale Napoli Nord, where police officers will give further instructions or, if necessary, escort vehicles to the stadium.

Shuttle Buses:

Supporters are advised to arrive at the meeting point four to five hours before the kick-off time to allow for ticket checks and journey time to the stadium. Supporter shuttle buses will travel in convoy. The shuttle bus service will commence from 2pm local time.

NB: Please note this is subject to change at the discretion of the Italian Authorities - up to date information will be published by LFC and the FCO website. All supporters must continually check for updates to ensure they have the most accurate information.

Security checks will take place before boarding the shuttle buses. Fans will be personally searched to ensure they are not in possession of any prohibited items.

Please be aware that journey times to the stadium may take longer than expected - supporters should bring water and/or refreshments to ensure their comfort in case of any delays.

The drop off point will be outside the turnstiles within a sterile area.

Turnstiles will open at 5pm CET. Identification will be required to be shown at the turnstile.

All supporters using the shuttle bus are required to produce their tickets and identification with a corresponding name as that on the ticket. Any supporter with a ticket that is not in their name will not be allowed to travel to the stadium as it is an offence under Italian national legislation to attempt to enter a ground with a ticket not in your name.

Access to the stadium:

Upon arrival at the stadium shuttle buses will drop supporters outside the visiting turnstiles. Stewards will conduct ticket and identification checks at this point.

No tickets will be sold on the day of the game, and in the event of loss or theft, no duplicates will be issued. Please ensure you keep your ticket safely with you at all times, as anyone found not in possession of a ticket will be escorted from the stadium.

Identification will be requested at the turnstiles when accessing the stadium and checked against the name on the ticket. Please do not attempt to remove or change the name from the ticket as you will be refused entry.

Police and stewards will be present both inside and outside this area. Everyone entering the stadium will be searched.

Liverpool FC supporters will enter the stadium at the corner of the ground between Curva A and Tribuna Posillipo. Seats are located located in Blocks 23 & 24.

The entry gate (Varco 26) will be signposted “ONLY LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS” and the surrounding area (Via Marconi, Piazzale Matteucci e Barsanti) will be reserved (and separated by barriers) for visiting supporters and their vehicles. This is located near Mostra d’Oltremare.

All supporters will be searched on entry to the stadium.

LFC supporters are advised that belts are not permitted at the stadium. We advise travelling supporters not to wear belts where possible. Should supporters travel with belts, they can be left on the shuttle busses – these will be left at supporters’ own risk. Belts will be removed on search at the stadium.

A list of prohibited items is below:

  • Lighters
  • Belts
  • Big buckles
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Bottled or canned soft drinks (these will be permitted onto shuttle buses, but not into the stadium).
  • Fireworks or firecrackers
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Blunt objects
  • Offensive or illegal banners
  • Bottles

The stadium operates a no bag policy. However, the stadium will allow small bags to enter such as a hand bag or medical bag, which will be subject to search. There is no bag drop facility.

Flags and banners must be approved in advance – please contact lfcmatchdaysafety@liverpoolfc.com with your request.

After the match:

At the end of the match, there may be a request, in consultation with the local police, for visiting supporters to remain in the stadium for a short time whilst the immediate areas clear.  You will be informed of this during the match via PA announcements.  We will ensure that you are able to exit the stadium as soon as possible, so that you may commence your return journey.

Return Travel:

A shuttle bus service will be available outside the stadium within the sterile away supporter’s area, for return travel back to the meeting point.

For those planning to use rail services for onward travel, please be aware that Naples Central Railway Station closes at midnight.
