Liverpool's expanded Main Stand has been awarded two interior design accolades at the industry's top awards ceremonies.

Last month, the Anfield stand won the ‘Interior and Fit-Out Award’ at the prestigious Stadium Business Design and Development Awards, held in Barcelona.

The expanded Main Stand scooped the award for its new interiors and high-quality facilities that are considered to have set the benchmark for a new stadium experience.

More recently, the Main Stand also won the ‘Leisure Interiors Project of the Year’ at the Mixology North Awards for its fan engangement areas, which have enhanced both matchday and non-matchday experiences.

The designs were praised for emphasising the club’s values, whilst nurturing the sense of success and passion, fusing together the culture of the club.

Andrew Parkinson, Liverpool's operations director, said: "The interiors were developed based on the owners' aspirations for a stand that gave both fans and hospitality guests a best-in-class environment that reflects the uniqueness of Anfield.

“Working with designers, KSS and Graven, it was important to create interiors which fuse together the club’s history and culture, its connection with the fans and also the city.

"Each of the spaces within the stand have been meticulously developed, creating a personality for each room and a sense of place. We are very pleased with the outcome."
