Kolo Toure paid a special visit to the LFC Foundation College last week when he met up with some of the students.

The chance to greet Liverpool's No.4 was a reward for the fantastic progress on the pitch from the LFC Foundation College Team 4.

Toure spoke with the youngsters and encouraged them to keep working hard and play as a team, and these words proved effective as Team 4 went onto beat Football Plus in the last 16 of the Everton Senior Shield.

In a pulsating game the young Reds raced into a 3-0 half-time lead with Thomas Cook scoring two goals and Ben Anderson adding a third.

Football Plus came back strong in the second half and soon made it 3-3, but Ben Anderson was the hero when he grabbed the dramatic winner.

The group deserve much credit after a tough start to the season, and the likes of Laith Al-Abiad, James Lewis and Michael Chow have made real progress on and off the pitch.

Coaches John McGrattan and Danny Harrison have instilled an excellent team ethic, improved fitness, technical ability and tactical understanding, and they are now getting the results on the pitch.
