Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw away at FC Midtjylland in their final fixture of Champions League Group D.
Mohamed Salah gave the visitors the lead after just 55 seconds – the club's fastest ever goal in the competition.
But they were pegged back just after the hour mark when Alexander Scholz converted from the penalty spot.
Scholz had the ball in the net again but it was disallowed for offside, while Takumi Minamino also had a goal chalked off for handball in the build-up.
Trent Alexander-Arnold started the tie as the Reds' captain for the very first time in his career.
