Jürgen Klopp assessed Liverpool’s pre-season, discussed transfers and hailed the ‘special’ atmosphere in Dublin after the game.

Klopp: "I was really touched by the atmosphere here. We felt it today - I'd heard Dublin is an LFC city, and today I saw it."

Klopp on Woodburn: "He's doing really well and he scored a great goal."

Klopp: "From tomorrow we'll prepare for Watford, and then the next game and then the next one..."

Klopp: "Perfection in pre-season is the biggest mistake you can make because it always leads to the wrong decisions. In the second half we had a young side and struggled a bit at first, but after that it got better and I'm happy."

Full Time

And there's the full-time whistle.

The Reds round off their pre-season friendly prpgramme with a 3-1 win, thanks to goals from Firmino, Woodburn and Solanke.

Stay right here for updates from Jürgen Klopp's post-match press conference...

Dominic Solanke makes it three!

An excellent, towering header from the Reds' No.29, who was picked out well by Ragnar Klavan.

3-1 to Liverpool with 10 minutes remaining.

Nearly a third for the Reds, as an Athletic defender goes close to putting Solanke's cross through his own net.

Etxeberria, Villalibre and De Marcos all on for Athletic.

Mane curls a long-range shot on target, but Arrizabalaga gathers comfortably.

It's been much better from Liverpool in these last 10 minutes or so.

The Reds are back in front thanks to a brilliant finish from Ben Woodburn!

The teenager took a lovely first touch from Solanke's cross and arrowed a left-footed shot past Arrizabalaga from just inside the area.

2-1 to Liverpool!

Mane is denied by an excellent stop from Arrizabalaga, who then claims Kent's corner comfortably.

10 minutes gone in the second half.

And we're back under way at the Aviva...

Jürgen Klopp has made 10 changes at half-time, with only Simon Mignolet staying on.

So, Flanagan, Gomez, Klavan, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Ejaria, Woodburn, Kent, Mane, Solanke are all on for the second half.

Half Time

It's half-time here in Dublin, with Williams' equaliser cancelling out Firmino's opener from the penalty spot.

Liverpool enjoyed the better of most of that first period, but Athletic finished the half strongly.

Athletic 'keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga gets down low to prevent Moreno from putting Liverpool back in front with an effort with the outside of his left foot.

Firmino again heavily involved, with his pass providing the Spaniard with the chance.

Firmino's pen and celebrations...

Williams equalises for Athletic.

The forward slotted a calm right-footed finish past Mignolet after getting a slice of good fortune, with the ball ricocheting into his path from Lovren's block tackle.

Liverpool ahead and in control here, but Ager Aketxe has just missed a presentable opportunity after being teed up by Inaki Williams in a swift Athletic counter-attack.

Never in doubt, was it?!

The Brazilian coolly tucks the penalty into the bottom-left corner.

1-0 to the Reds!

Penalty to Liverpool!

Firmino's dragged down in the box and will take the spot-kick himself...

Origi heads wide after good link-up play between Moreno and Salah.

A strong start from the Reds - can we make it pay on the scoreboard?

Action shot...

That Origi chance followed a touching tribute to Bradley Lowery here at the Aviva, with all four sides of the ground joining in a minute's applause for the little Sunderland fan who tragically passed away at the age of six last month.

Origi side-foots wide after latching onto a perfectly-weighted pass from Firmino.

A lovely flowing move involving Firmino, Grujic, Salah and Alexander-Arnold ends with the Egyptian's cross narrowly evading Origi in the centre.

We're under way here. Liverpool on top in the early exchanges, but no attempts on goal yet.

The teams are out here in Dublin and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' rings out around the Aviva Stadium, which is dominated by red.

Kick-off is moments away...

Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz aren't in Dublin today...

Jürgen Klopp's assistants are on a Champions League play-off scouting mission, the boss told us pre-match.

The team news is in and it confirms a strong starting line-up for Liverpool at the Aviva Stadium, that features James Milner moving back into midfield...

Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Milner, Can, Grujic, Salah, Firmino, Origi.

Subs: Karius, Ward, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Klavan, Mane, Robertson, Solanke, Flanagan, Kent, Ejaria, Woodburn.

The stage is set in Dublin...

It's not Liverpool's first visit to Aviva Stadium, in fact they were here as recently as May 2014 for a post-season friendly with Shamrock Rovers that was won 4-0. No doubt Klopp would be pleased with a similar result this time around.

The Reds are here

Jürgen Klopp and his players have just arrived at their hotel, welcomed with cheers from a hearty group of local fans, to rest and prepare before taking a short trip over to the stadium later this afternoon.

A hurling lesson for the legends

Three former Reds tried their hand at a very different discipline on Friday, having a hurling tutorial at the iconic Croke Park.
