LFC FoundationYsgol Syr Hugh Owen Hosts Inspiring Anti-Bullying Event with LFC Foundation
Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen recently hosted an Anti-Bullying Event with LFC Foundation’s Onside Team.
Inspired by the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s theme for this year, ‘Power Of Good’, the day proved to be energetic and creative day. Kicking off with an interactive quiz all about power, the pupils began thinking about the influence we all have. Friendly competition filled the room as students discovered that power isn’t just about strength.
It’s about choices, kindness, and standing up for what’s right.
Pupils then followed on with an open and thoughtful group discussion, exploring how to use their strengths in positive ways. Common themes emerged: showing kindness, speaking up for others, and staying resilient when times are tough. The conversation also tackled the roles people play in bullying situations.
A key message came from the conversation, a “bully” is not a fixed identity. Bullying is a behaviour, not a person. This powerful insight helped pupils understand that behaviours can change, and everyone has the ability to make better choices.
To end the day on a creative high, pupils took inspiration from the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s 2025 poem and wrote their own verses answering the question, “How will you use your Power for Good?”The responses were heartfelt and imaginative giving proof that young people are ready to lead the way in creating kinder, safer communities.
