LFC FoundationReds to Showcase LFC Foundation on Champions League Nights
For the third consecutive season, the LFC Foundation logo will be proudly displayed on the back of the men’s first team shirts for all European fixtures.
On Wednesday, Liverpool FC’s Champions League campaign kicks off with an evening fixture against Atletico Madrid at Anfield. For this game, and for all subsequent European games this season, both home and away, the LFC Foundation logo will feature on the back of the players’ shirts.
This will help to raise awareness of the Club’s official charity and the vital work it carries out, tackling social inequalities through programmes that have a positive impact on health, learning and employment, both in the UK and internationally.
Virgil van Dijk, men’s first team captain, said: “As a squad we’re proud to wear LFC Foundation badges on our shirts for all our European games again this season. LFC Foundation does incredible work in the community and has ambitious plans to support more and more people in need every season. They continue to have our full support.”
LFC Fans can add the LFC Foundation patch to the back of their shirts for just £5. This option is available both in store and online. Proceeds will go towards developing and supporting the charity’s work, with a particular focus on their international programmes.
LFC Foundation supported more than 145,000 people in the 23/24 season, delivering a wide range of programmes across the Liverpool City region and globally.
The Foundation’s work spans six countries: UK, Ireland, Tanzania, Ethiopia, USA, and Japan and its international programmes reached over 19,000 children and young people last season.
One of the LFC Foundation’s key international partnerships is with the Nippon Foundation. As part of the new relationship, the two foundations will deliver a large-scale programme in Japan aimed at empowering young people and promoting positive social change through sport and education.
