LFC FoundationOver £26,000 raised to continue LFC Foundation’s community work in Ireland following Charity Golf Day
LFC Foundation raised £26,800 in its first Charity Golf Day and Dinner in Ireland, supported by Ladbrokes.
The event, which took place on April 23 at the Roganstown Hotel & Country Club in Dublin, saw all proceeds support LFC Foundation’s work in Ireland.
The LFC Foundation currently engages with three League of Ireland Premier Division clubs, who all deliver community interventions and wider programmes to support vulnerable groups. The Foundation also provides training to upskill community staff and coaches as part of their professional development.
During the 2024-25 season, 10,547 local participants were supported through the work of the LFC Foundation in Ireland. More than 145,000 people across the Liverpool City Region were also supported by the LFC Foundation.
LFC Legends John Aldridge, Jason McAteer, Vladimir Smicer and Sander Westerveld all took part in the charity event, alongside Ladbrokes who held a longest drive and nearest to the pin competition.
Following the action, Peter McDowall hosted a dinner at the Roganstown Hotel which saw a Q&A with the LFC Legends before a wonderful 3-course dinner was served. An auction and fundraising activities, including mystery boxes, followed with over £26,000 raised which will help the LFC Foundation deliver even more vital work in Ireland.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation Chief Executive said: “I want to thank everyone involved in our first successful golf event in Ireland, supported by Ladbrokes.“The work we do in Dublin sees us partner with a number of League of Ireland Premier Division clubs who all deliver life changing community interventions to support vulnerable groups.
“Through this partnership with the clubs, to date we have been able to support just under 25,000 local participants, including over 10,500 last season. I am delighted that 100% of proceeds from this hugely successful event will now help us continue our vital work in Ireland.”
Nicola McGeady, Head of PR at Ladbrokes, added: "We were delighted to support the LFC Foundation’s first Charity Golf Day and Dinner in Ireland and help raise vital funds for such impactful community work. The effort put into raising this money is something everyone involved can be proud of."
