LFC FoundationCreative Works USA: Supporting Young Adults in NYC and New Jersey
Ahead of our USA Pre Season Tour, we are delighted to announce The LFC Foundation Creative Works Program, delivering to young adults across the five boroughs of New York City as well as New Jersey.
Inspiring the next generation of creatives through storytelling – Creative Works is an employability programme which brings together young adults, creativity and careers.
Working with young people 16-25 years old- the program aims to raise aspirations of gaining job roles within the creative industry, whilst developing the necessary transferable skills needed for success in the job market, through a combination of interactive educational workshops and industry specific sessions.
The young adults in the program will gain exposure to creative industries, careers and meet and learn from professionals and entrepreneurs in a variety of innovative creative job roles. Many of the participants will be assigned a mentor, who while sharing insightful knowledge and advice, will be able to open their mentee to professional networks that they may not have been able to get involved in on their own.
Supported by LFC Club Partner Kodansha, Creative Works offers the opportunity for participants to step outside of their comfort zone while exposing them to people and knowledge they may not typically receive in formal education. We have currently been working alongside schools, soccer clubs, non-profits and various other organizations to deliver programming to their young people. Our mentors range from a variety of backgrounds and top companies such as Stern Strategy, IREX, and Standard Chartered.
The goal for the participants in our program is increasing self-confidence, gaining transferable skills to help becoming more employable, and understanding and applying the workings of what makes a great employee.
Our program is looking for support in providing work experiences and office tours for our young people, mentors, and to grow our network of support. If you or someone you know would be interested in getting involved in our amazing program, please fill out this form and we will get in touch shortly.
