LFC FoundationCreative Works US students visit Kodansha House in New York
Official club partner, Kodansha, opened the doors to Kodansha House, a pop-up cultural space in SoHo, New York, celebrating all things manga, publishing, and storytelling.
With exhibitions, workshops, and a manga library, it invites visitors to experience “the power of stories”.
As part of our Creative Works programme with Kodansha, 15 students from Cristo Rey High School in Brooklyn visited the exhibition.
Creative Work is all about providing opportunities for young people to explore creative careers. It first launched in Liverpool, and in 2023 it expanded to New York, helping more young people discover their own voice and creativity.
The photographer for the day was Bryan De La Cruz, a former Creative Works participant who has continued to use his camera for visual storytelling upon completion of the programme. For the students, it was great seeing someone who once stood in their shoes now working in the creative world.
Below is a gallery of photos from the Kodansha House pop-up, open until 19th October.
