LFC FoundationCongratulations to students from Formby High School for receiving their qualifications
We're celebrating a cohort of young people who have attained their Level 1 Sports Leadership qualification and Princes Trust award.
LFC Foundation have been working with Formby High School for the past two academic years delivering our Onside programme.
Onside, which is funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund, uses the power of the LFC badge and the Premier League to engage with students and provide them with key skills, confidence and the resilience needed to overcome obstacles and choose the right pathways in life. The aim of the programme is to raise young peoples' aspirations inside and outside of education, empowering them to take responsibility of their own development.
The group of students from Formby High School have triumphed over numerous obstacles and have demonstrated resilience by venturing beyond their comfort zones to lead others inside and outside the classroom.
Together, they successfully ran an enterprise project raising money for a charity that directly supports a family within Formby High School.
Holly Kinsella, LFC Foundation Youth & Schools Coordinator said, "We're incredibly proud of the achievements of these young people."
"Their commitment and dedication to achieving their goals and supporting their community has been an inspiration to watch."
Mr Quayle, Teacher at Formby High School said, "The LFC Onside programme has been a roaring success our school over the last couple of years."
"Students have been selected for the program as a form of alternate provision to teach them skills they may not have learnt in a conventional classroom."
"The change we have seen in some of the students has been monumental; more confident, more outspoken and higher self-esteem are just a handful of the positive changes we have seen in some of our students".
A huge congratulations to all involved!
