LFC FoundationChampion of the Month: June 2025
Congratulations to Jakub who is our Champion of the Month for June 2025!
Congratulations to Jakub Korbasienicz who is our Champion of the Month for June 2025!
Jakub was nominated by Youth and Schools Coordinator Madison Murphy for his outstanding performance & resilience in his recent completion of the ONSIDE programme.
Madison says..
Jakub is not just a participant — he is a symbol of resilience, growth, and quiet strength. A Year 9 student from Dixon's Fazakerley Academy (DFA), who recently completed his ONSIDE course, which has enabled him to achieve his King’s Trust Achieve Award and his Sports Leaders Level 1 Qualification, all with an outstanding 100% attendance. But it is the story behind these achievements that truly sets him apart.
Jakub’s journey has not been easy. Over the past year, he has faced some challenges however, Jakub did not let these define him., Jakub did something extraordinary — he showed up. Every single week. With courage. With quiet determination. And with the willingness to build a better future for himself.
Jakub shown incredible ambition in his schoolwork and personal development. Throughout the ONSIDE sessions, he poured himself into developing key life skills — communication, teamwork, self-management, self-belief, wellbeing, and problem-solving. He didn’t just participate; he led. He didn’t just turn up; he inspired. Jakub became a friend, a role model, and a leader among his peers.
Jakub found stability, support, and belief in himself, his light began to shine. His smile became a familiar and uplifting part of every session.
One unforgettable turning point was the day Jakub was invited to the AXA Training Ground, where he watched the first team train, toured the facilities, and took part in a Q&A with LFC legend John Aldridge. That day was more than just football — it was a moment of joy, of belonging, of possibility. The feedback said it all.
Jennifer Simms, LFC Co-ordinator at DFA : "This is such a good opportunity for him to have some positivity in his life, he will be so happy."
Jakub's mum: "Thank you very much for this day, I am so happy for my son! Great pictures and the best memories... thank you very much!"
This is why Jakub deserves this award. Not just for what he has achieved, but for who he has become. Jakub is the definition of strength in adversity — and we are so proud of him.
When I asked Jakub at the end of the course what was next for him, his response was simple but deeply telling: "To focus on football and work hard." In that moment, it was clear — Jakub had found something priceless. Hope. Direction. Purpose.
His hard-working nature now shines through in everything he does. He gives his all, whether in class, in sport, or in personal development. He carries himself with pride, always seeking to prove — not to others, but to himself — that he is capable, he is worthy, and he is going places. Jakub dreams big, and you can see it in the way he walks, speaks, and shows up, day in and day out. His attendance is flawless, his schoolwork strong, and his aspirations clear.
Watching Jakub grow has been nothing short of a privilege. It’s been inspiring. And while his time on the course may be finished, his journey is only just beginning.
