LFC FoundationLFC Foundation host football sessions for young girls at special British Embassy event in Tokyo
LFC Foundation put on an afternoon of fun for young girls at a special soccer clinic hosted at the British Embassy in Tokyo as part of the Reds pre-season tour.
It was a memorable afternoon for the children, aged between 8 and 12, who were welcomed to take part in football sessions on the British Embassy lawn alongside surprise LFC guests.
LFC Foundation were joined at the event by Liverpool FC CEO Billy Hogan, while former LFCW captain Niamh Fahey was also in attendance and spent time talking to the girls, getting photographs and taking part in the football sessions.
Led by LFC Foundation staff, the young footballers were put through their paces with some training drills and mini games, alongside club mascot Mighty Red.
Speaking at the event, Fahey said: “It was fantastic to see so many young girls enjoying the session and playing football with such passion and enthusiasm. Events like this can really inspire the next generation, and it’s a privilege to be part of that and to be here supporting the incredible work of the LFC Foundation.”
The soccer clinic is one of a number of community events hosted by LFC Foundation throughout the duration of this year’s pre-season tour, with more to follow in Tokyo before the Reds head back for the start of the 2025-26 season.
It was followed by ‘An Evening with Liverpool Football Club’ inside the British Embassy, where club legends, including Ian Rush, Sami Hyypia and Lucas Leiva, were joined by Ambassador Julia Longbottom, Skills Minister Jacqui Smith and representatives from Japan Airlines among many others.
