Take a look at some highlights of our health work within our community engagement team over the past few weeks!

Chair Based Yoga

Oakfield Day Centre enjoyed their weekly inclusive Chair Based Yoga session at Anfield Sports and Community Centre. Funded by the PLPFA, the meditation at the end of the session is always a hit with participants. A chance to unwind & switch off from their daily stressors.

After the Yoga, people were able to enjoy a buffet lunch to celebrate one of our participants special 60th Birthday!

Tai Chi

Our Yai Chi group at the Brunswick Youth & Community Centre were joined by Premier League staff, Lee and Tasha, alongside Club ambassadors Tasha Dowie and LFC Foundation Community Ambassador, Chris Kirkland.

Organised by the Red Neighbours Community programme, this group continues to grow in size, confidence and ability. It’s great to see this family community thrive as participants take part in mindful exercise to enhance their wellbeing through movement. Premier League staff were delighted to see their funding in action, even getting drawn in to take part by the energy in the room.

Man2Man

Man2Man, funded by LFC Foundation displayed a fantastic example of cross department working. The community engagement team were joined by the Foundation’s mental health and STEM teams to deliver an immersive session focused around the five ways to wellbeing. Participants at Sean’s Place enjoyed lunch provided by Homebaked before taking on a number of challenges.

KEEP LEARNING - They learnt how to code and create a robotic football match, using technology to learn new skills and have fun.

BE ACTIVE - Participants challenged each other in competitive games including a reflex challenge with former LFC goalkeeper and LFC Community Ambassador, Chris Kirkland.

TAKE NOTICE - What better way to take notice than being sat with the European Cup? Participants took time out to reflect over a 'cuppa' and cake whilst drawing the famous trophy in front of them.

CONNECT - Sweet pong was the game! The questions inside were the challenge! Exploring ways in which they connect with each other in a positive way and finding out what makes each other tick was great for team morale!

GIVE - A gratitude station as participants wrote letters to those who have supported them on their mental health recovery journey.
