LFC FoundationFirst five players confirmed for LFC Legends clash with Chelsea FC Legends
The first five players signed up to represent LFC Legends against Chelsea FC Legends at Anfield in March have been confirmed.
Old rivalries will be reignited 20 years on from the Reds’ extraordinary 2004-05 season, which included an unforgettable Champions League semi-final victory over the Blues at Anfield.
Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, a hero of the Reds’ 2005 Champions League triumph, will once again be an option in between the sticks for LFC Legends.
Djibril Cisse, another member of the squad from that memorable 2004-05 Champions League campaign, will be amongst the attacking options for the Reds, alongside former front man Robbie Keane.
Defenders Fabio Aurelio and Djimi Traore have also been confirmed to play in the LFC Foundation charity match, presented by official training partner AXA.
The fixture, in association with Forever Reds, the club’s official former players association, will kick off at 3pm GMT on Saturday March 22 at Anfield.
Tickets are on general sale now and 100 per cent of the proceeds will support the work of LFC Foundation, as well as supporting beneficiaries including Forever Reds, Chelsea FC Foundation and Chelsea Players’ Trust.
Tickets for the charity match are priced at £29 for adults, £19 for concessions and £9 for juniors and can be purchased here, with full selling details available here. Disabled supporters can visit the Accessibility Hub for full sale details.
Hospitality packages are also available from £195 including VAT. More information is available here or by calling 0151 264 2222.
Eight previous legends matches at Anfield have raised more than £7.5 million and have helped LFC Foundation increase the number of people it supported to 127,000 last season.
Funds from the next legends match will help play a key role in LFC Foundation’s new strategy, which aims to double fundraising efforts to reach the ambition of helping 500,000 people a season by 2030.
Money raised will also specifically support LFC Foundation’s health programmes, which provide physical and mental wellbeing programmes for people of all ages.
