LFC FoundationChampion of the Month: July 2025
Congratulations to our Champion of the Month for July 2025!
A pupil from a local primary school was nominated by Premier League Primary Stars coordinator Stephanie McCann, for her fantastic commitment towards our Primary Stars Programme!
This student's journey with the LFC Foundation began two years ago, and since then, she has made an incredible transformation that fills everyone who knows her with pride. In the beginning, the student faced some significant challenges with her decisions and behaviours at school, which sometimes held her back from reaching her full potential. However, what truly sets this student apart is her refusal to give up on herself. From early on, it was clear that the student had a natural talent for PE. By highlighting her strengths and celebrating her achievements in these lessons. This recognition helped the student build confidence not only in PE but also within the wider school environment, where she previously struggled.
Through our Premier League Primary Stars Programme, which uses the positive power of professional football clubs to inspire children to be active, look after their wellbeing, and develop important life skills, the student has grown in ways that are truly inspiring to witness. While fiercely competitive, the student struggled emotionally when her team lost a game, which would cause arguments and carry over into her academic school day. Over time, with positive encouragement and staff giving her the belief she needed, she has blossomed into a natural leader, someone who others look up to not just for her football skills but for her character. Her kindness shines through in how she supports and uplifts her teammates, always ready to encourage others and lead by example. Her dedication to both her personal growth and her team has made her a role model and a beacon of positivity within the group. It’s clear that the students journey is not just about football, but about becoming the best version of herself, inspiring everyone around her every step of the way.
The student journey has made a significant difference in both her attitude and performance at school. Her growing confidence, sparked by the positive support from the LFC Foundation and recognition of her talent in PE, has allowed her to fully engage in lessons and take on responsibilities within her football team. Teachers have noticed she is more focused and willing to participate in class discussions, showing maturity and a readiness to learn. Her story inspires others to believe in themselves, embrace leadership, and strive for their best both on and off the pitch. The difference in the student is clear: she is more confident, responsible, and prepared to achieve her full potential.
Since gaining confidence through her PE lessons and support from the LFC Foundation, the student has become much more proactive and engaged in school life. She approaches PE with enthusiasm and is always eager to try new skills, which has helped her develop not only physically but also mentally. Beyond school, the student's growth has inspired her to take on a leadership role within the girls’ football team, where she continues to develop important skills like teamwork, communication, and resilience. As a result, she has become a role model for her peers, showing how dedication and self-belief can lead to real change and success both in football and in everyday life.
