Youth Works is our Youth Work apprenticeship programme which aims to support the regrowth of qualified youth workers in the city.

Funded by Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, PFA, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Educational Grants Trust.

The need for youth workers in Liverpool City Region is critical and the numbers of youth workers have declined due to a lack of funding.

LFC Foundation, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Educational Grants Trust combined to create a steering group which aimed to understand the challenges that are facing potential youth workers and how we could engage young people with organisations who are willing to invest in the futures of youth workers in Liverpool.

Over the past 2 and a half years, our 6 apprentices have been completing their Youth Works apprenticeship scheme, gaining qualifications and vital skills along their journey.

Working alongside Walton Youth Project and Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre, our youth workers have spent a combined 23,250 hours delivering in the community over the past 2 years.

Each participant involved themselves in projects that are at the heart of those communities, delivering street based, supporting food deliveries and tackling food poverty, supporting on community clean ups or providing one to one support.
