FoundationYouth Panel celebrates International Youth Day 2023
On Saturday 12th August, a delegation from the LFC Foundation Youth Panel travelled down to City Hall, London to celebrate International Youth Day 2023, as well as the 10-year anniversary of the #iwill movement.
Members of the group got to work alongside other like-minded young people from across the #iwill network, as youth groups from all over the UK attended this amazing event.
The panel members were able to speak to and learn from a range of different individuals who were all equally as passionate about youth social action. The day included some teamwork exercises, a group activity looking forward to 2033 and the 'next 10-years of the #iwill movement' and a Q&A panel discussion.
The panel all had a fantastic day of networking, learning and fun.
"It was really inspiring to meet other like-minded people, who all care about social action. It was a great way to see what else is going on around the country and how we can all collaborate to make a bigger change." - Aimee Lynskey, LFC Foundation Youth Panel.
"It was a privilege to be able to accompany some of our inspirational Youth Panel members to this event. It was great to see them all step out of their comfort zone and work in collaboration with other socially conscious young people. They were, as always, incredible ambassadors for the LFC Foundation." - Stephen Hale, #iwill social action programme manager.
Young people make a huge impact in our communities every day. They use their energy, skills and ideas to make positive change in their local areas and beyond, working to shape a better future for everyone. We want to support and empower young people to play an even bigger role in shaping their communities and society.
The Youth Panel participants range from 16-30 years old and are vital to how we shape the Foundation offerings to the community. They provide an alternative insight into how we can reach young people and families with the programmes we provide. They are also passionate about bringing out real positive change to the environment around them and helping those who need it the most through fundraising and volunteering.
