LFC FoundationSafer Internet Day 2026 – Smart tech, safe choices: Exploring the safe & responsible use of AI
LFC Foundation supports Safer Internet Day 2026
Safer Internet Day 2026 focuses on how children, young people, adults, and organisations interact with artificial intelligence (AI) safely and responsibly. This briefing supports all LFC colleagues to promote safe, informed and ethical AI use.
Understanding AI in everyday digital use: Children and young people interact with AI through voice assistants, chat bots, personalised feeds, algorithms and automated recommendations often without realising it.
Critical Thinking & Digital Literacy Help users understand that not all AI outputs are accurate, balanced or appropriate, and they must think critically about using them. Pause before you trust an image, message or request, it may not be real.
Privacy and Personal Data: AI powered systems rely heavily on data. Encourage young people and colleagues to be aware of what personal data is inputted into chat bots and AI systems.
Ethical use of AI: consider ethical considerations such as fairness, bias, transparency and responsible use of smart technology.
Football Specific Guidance:
⚽ Never share training times, locations, or squad information into AI tools or apps.
⚽ Be aware that AI generated agent messages or fake scouting contacts are increasing, always verify with LFC staff.
⚽Never upload teammate images to AI powered editing apps without consent.
