It’s been a busy week for the Red Neighbours team. Read a round-up of the latest activity below.
Chris Kirkland Joins Red Neighbours Community Social
A brilliant PLPFA-funded community social with Red Neighbours, brought local people together at the Tiber Football Centre, one of our community hubs. Participants enjoyed a hot meal from our friends at Homebaked, followed by some live entertainment and conversation with Foundation ambassador Chris Kirkland.
Friendships Built Through the LFC Foundation
Two of our participants, Tony and Sol, spent the morning at Homebaked enjoying a cuppa and cake, celebrating a friendship formed through their shared love of football and involvement with the LFC Foundation.
Women’s Walking Football Goes from Strength to Strength
Red Neighbours has expanded its Women’s Walking Football offer, providing more opportunities for women to get active, build friendships and enjoy the game.
Participants were joined by former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland at ASCC, where there were plenty of impressive skills, fantastic goals and plenty of smiles throughout an enjoyable session.
Tackling Social Isolation Through Community Events
A fantastic afternoon was enjoyed at Northwood Community Centre as part of our PLPFA-funded community social programme with Red Neighbours. Guests enjoyed afternoon tea provided by Homebaked and some live entertainment courtesy of the wonderful Alex Devine.
These events bring the community together, tackle social isolation and allow us to consult participants on what they’d like to see more of in their space.
Our Walking Football Participants Take Part In The Unity Is Strength Tournament
PLPFA-funded Red Neighbours Walking Football participants recently took part in the Unity Is Strength Tournament at the Academy.
Throughout the day, the team represented the club, the foundation and their teammates with ambition, commitment, dignity and unity throughout!
Our Women’s Walking Football Team Crowned Champions
Over the past four months, our Red Neighbours Women’s Walking Football team has taken part in the She Inspires Inclusive Football Tournament, competing against teams from across the region.
After months of hard work, dedication and teamwork, the team were crowned champions We couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come and everything they’ve achieved!
