LFC FoundationRed Neighbours Community Summer Social - A Celebration of Local Engagement
The Red Neighbours Community, funded by the Premier League Professional Footballers’ Associations (PLPFA), hosted a vibrant Summer Social event, designed to celebrate the achievements of the programme.
The Summer Social was a day filled with activities and entertainment, reflecting the community spirit and the impact the Red Neighbours team has had on local engagement. It brought together 213 attendees from five key community venues: ASCC, Northwood Community Centre, Deysbrook Community Centre, The Hive, and The Brunswick Youth & Community Centre.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Mighty Red and continued with live entertainment. There was also a memory station from The Red Archive, which allowed attendees to explore and share their football memories, with an invitation to design your own LFC tote bag at their craft station. Attendees also had the unique opportunity to take photos with the Carabao Cup and European Trophy, adding a touch of football magic to the day.
The event was made even more special by the presence of three former Liverpool FC players: Natasha Dowie, Becky Easton, and Chris Kirkland. These football legends engaged with attendees, posing for photos and participating in a lively Q&A session hosted by Club Chaplain, Bill Bygroves. Their involvement highlighted the ongoing connection between the club’s past and the community’s future, inspiring all in attendance.
The Red Neighbours Community programme, supported by the PLPFA, continues to foster local engagement and provide opportunities to work with incredible community venues.
As we move forward into the 2024/25 season, we are excited to build on these achievements and create even more opportunities for connection and celebration. We are grateful to the PLPFA for their ongoing support and look forward to the future of the Red Neighbours Community.
