LFC FoundationPlay for Change Bangkok 2026: Empowering Young People Through the Power of Football
Football has the power to do more than develop athletic skills it creates opportunities for young people to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop essential life skills that extend far beyond the pitch.
Through Play for Change Bangkok 2026, LFC Foundation collaborated with ASA Foundation, the British Embassy Bangkok, Save the Children Thailand, and local partners to deliver an inclusive football-for-development programme for approximately 60 young participants in Bangkok.
Throughout the programme, participants took part in interactive football coaching sessions and life skills activities designed to strengthen communication, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and inclusion.
Guided by experienced coaches from ASA Foundation and LFC Foundation, every session created a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where young people were encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive together.
A special highlight of the programme was the visit of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence during their visit to Thailand. At Chumchonmoobanpattana School in Khlong Toei, Her Royal Highness officially opened the football activities, toured classrooms, and met with local students, celebrating the positive role that sport can play in supporting young people's development.
The event also featured inclusive football-based life skills activities organised by ASA Foundation and LFC Foundation, with participants joined by LFC Legend Emile Heskey, whose presence inspired young people to embrace teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of sport.
Play for Change Bangkok 2026 reaffirmed the importance of strong partnerships in creating meaningful opportunities for children and young people. By bringing together local and international organisations with a shared commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and quality programme delivery, we continue to demonstrate how sport can be a powerful platform for learning, connection, and positive social change.
Together, we continue to harness the power of sport to inspire confidence, foster inclusion, and create lasting opportunities for children and young people.
