Among those taking part in the memorable play on the pitch experience was Honeysuckle FC – a programme designed to support men who have experienced baby loss, making the occasion all the more poignant.

They were joined by participants from across the full breadth of Foundation programmes, including Red Neighbours Open and Walking Football. As well as Onside, Primary Stars and Inspires which are Premier League Players' Fund and Premier League supported programmes, that use football to tackle inequality and help young people be active, develop key life skills and contribute to more inclusive communities.

Premier League Kicks and Player Development Programme participants also took part, with both programmes inspiring young people from across Merseyside and Belfast through the power of the game.

LFC Foundation Inclusion participants, funded through the Steve Morgan Foundation, shared the pitch with participants of the Red Together Refugee and Asylum Seeker sessions and the LGBT+ & ally's participants, making for a truly inclusive evening of football.

Matt Parish, chief executive of the LFC Foundation said: “It’s an unforgettable experience to walk out at Anfield.

“The LFC Foundation aims to tackle social inequality in our communities, and these memorable moments are a small but meaningful part of that journey.”

Last season alone, LFC Foundation supported more than 145,000 people across its health, learning and employability programmes, with more than half of participants from the top 20 per cent most deprived areas in the country.

Through Red Neighbours, LFC Foundation also donated more than £500,000 worth of essential food hampers, stadium tours and matchday experiences last season and supported the delivery of 1,000 free meals per week, prepared by the LFC kitchens, to community members.
