Liverpool FC will proudly support The FA’s Play Safe campaign once again this weekend, with safeguarding awareness activities taking place across the club to reinforce its commitment to creating safe, positive and inclusive environments for young people.

The campaign will be championed across the LFC Foundation Emerging Talent Centre, LFC Academy and LFC Women's Professional Game Academy, helping to ensure that safeguarding remains an ongoing conversation throughout the season and not just during Play Safe Weekend.

The Reds will be showing their support at this weekend's Women's Super League fixture against Manchester United, with coaching and management staff wearing Play Safe badges as recognition of the support and importance of having a voice and being heard.

The campaign will also be promoted through the LFC Foundation, LFCW Pro Game Academy and Academy sessions, where players and their families will have opportunities to engage in sessions which empower children to ‘Keep Up the Convo’ and share their thoughts and suggestions.

This year, Play Safe is asking every adult in football to ‘Keep Up The Convo’ with children and young people, not just over Play Safe weekend but throughout the season.

The theme for this year’s campaign highlights the importance of creating regular opportunities for children and young people to have a voice, ensuring that they feel heard, valued and taken seriously. The campaign encourages every adult involved in football to create open conversations, ask questions and actively listen to children.

At Liverpool FC, safeguarding remains a year-round priority, helping to ensure that players, staff, volunteers and community participants feel safe, supported and protected in an inclusive environment.

Nicola Fryer, director of safeguarding at LFC, said: "Play Safe weekend provides an important opportunity to shine a spotlight on safeguarding and to encourage meaningful conversations with children and young people”.

"At Liverpool FC, we are committed to ensuring that every participant feels safe, valued and heard. By creating environments where people are comfortable speaking up and by actively listening to their views, we can continue to strengthen our safeguarding culture across the club and our wider community."
